Our school will be undergoing the seismic upgrade/rebuild project starting in April 2020. Students will be split into three different schools according to their grades and they will not be returning to the new school until January 2022. During this transition period, Weir PAC would like to continue providing financial support to our teachers and children. We do anticipate disruptions to many of our regular fundraising efforts (book fair, hot lunch, movie nights just to name a few); therefore, we would like to jumpstart our fundraising efforts for the next couple of years now and we need your help!
We cannot support our teachers and children without strong resources. We kindly ask the parents for the following contribution. Last year, the Direct Donation Campaign raised $5,235.00. If this is within your means, we are asking for a donation of $50.00 per family.
FINANCIAL: The PAC's 2019/2020 approved budget requires that we raise $11,815 for this school year. With anticipated disruptions to our future fundraising efforts, we will need to further fund raise $23,630 to keep the same level of financial support to our teachers and children for the next two years. We cannot do this without your support!
Please consider making a donation to Weir Elementary when looking at your year-end charitable donations. The school community is grateful for your support which makes the extra activities offered at the school possible. Our goal is to provide our kids with a rich, engaging and well-rounded education beyond what is funded by VSB.

Why a Direct Donation?
100% of your donation goes to the school, and therefore your kids, as opposed to only a portion of fundraising associated with product sales.
100% of the money raised stays in the school. The more money we can raise, the faster we can reach our goals.
You may direct your contributions to either one of the current school projects or to the general direct donation fund.
Your donation is tax deductible. A tax receipt for donations greater than $25 will be issued in time for the current tax season.
This is an option if you want to support your child’s education but do not want to participate in other fundraisers.
What is a Direct Donation? The Vancouver School Board, funded by the Provincial Government, provide funds to cover the basic education at Weir, but as parents and guardians we directly fund additional education resources that enrich the education experience for our children. Most of our funds are received through fundraisers sponsored by the PAC. A direct donation is another option for Weir families to contribute toward their children’s education and, additionally, receive a tax receipt. Direct Donation is a voluntary and confidential contribution that will allow us to reduce the number of fundraisers undertaken annually. We understand that donating to the school may be difficult for some families. There is no obligation for families to participate in this campaign however your support is appreciated. The more funds we receive through Direct Donation the less we will have to fund raise to support programs and the fewer donation solicitations parents will receive throughout the year.
